Pakuwon Mall Jogja offered a unique and joyful way to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holidays with the “Celebrate Hari Raya Like A Sponge” event, held from March 26th to April 13th, 2025. The mall’s decorations underwent a playful transformation, using SpongeBob SquarePants and his underwater world in a special Eid theme. This created a whimsical and engaging atmosphere for shoppers and families alike, offering a fresh perspective on the festive season.

The main draw for many attendees was the opportunity to meet three of Bikini Bottom’s most recognizable residents: the enthusiastic SpongeBob, his ever-present companion Patrick, and the often-bemused Squidward. These character meet & greets provided delightful and memorable interactions for fans of all ages. Adding a sense of fun to the event were the two giant SpongeBob inflatables. An impressive 8-meter tall figure stood as a cheerful beacon outside the mall, while a welcoming 3-meter version greeted visitors as they entered the indoor space.

Beyond the character encounters and decorations, a dedicated merchandise zone catered to fans looking to take a piece of the SpongeBob celebration home. The area featured a diverse range of products, including SpongeBob-themed ice cream, various SpongeBob plush toys, stylish apparel, and fun footwear. In addition, a selection of other popular Nickelodeon merchandise was available, ensuring a wide variety of options for those seeking gifts or personal treats. The event successfully combined the joy of Hari Raya with the beloved characters of SpongeBob SquarePants, creating a unique and enjoyable experience in Yogyakarta.
